MV Agusta's original side stand is...well..let's put it that way: not very suitable. :)

As a present japanise bike driver, I just can't understand why so important part of the bike can't be better. Ok, it is about design, I understand.

But, is there any better sidestands available for MV Agusta which also looks good?

I seem to recall our resident 'King of Bling' JDS had access to one or two very tasty MV Corse stands in Titanium, I don't know if he still has any but knowing John he will know where one can be sourced. The same piece of kit as fitted to the CC limited editions I believe. Not cheap of course but very chic.

A couple of options come to mind.

There is a carbon fibre side stand being offered for sale on ebay.com

Lee did add an alloy plate to the bottom of his Tamburini side stand here:

Lastly the F4CC comes with a black billet side stand - part number 0000019 and it's 350 Euros:

There's a few options for you.

What problem are you experiencing? Are you afraid the bike will fall over? Just lower the ride height on the rear and that will fix your problem :)

Are you really telling a guy to mess up his suspension setting to help sort his side-stand, not very nice George.:jsm:

my sidestand is standard and no problem - never fallen over - except it bolts onto the side of the sump and has caused an oil leak (I think it compresses the gasket when on the side stand - worse if you sit on the bike when supported on the side stand - don't do this)- now sorted with a new gasket - in future if it is stood for any time I will put it on a rear paddock stand.

I wheeled my MV out of the garage the other day to go for a spin placed it on the side stand, was just about to walk away and the side stand snapped at the eye that bolts to the bracket.
so there i am holding the bike, the paddock stand is inside the garage hung on the wall.
whilst trying to hold the bike and get the stand off the wall i lost balanced and dropped the bike.
i did manage to let it fall gently and the side crash protector did its job and only ended up with a small bit of damage to the lower fairing. oops.

As far as I understand, there is two different stands, the one had the bike leaning over too far I think, and the other had the bike up too far ?
Have you seen these ? http://www.designcorse.co.uk/Mv_Agusta_Side_Stands

Donsy;

the MV stands are all the same.......driving on the right or left side.....

Aprilias have a problem, the USA stands are very different, longer and stronger
if you drive on the left, road camber makes it get scary......winds blow Aprilias over:wtf:

My advise is to get hold of the 2010/11 F4 or Brutale model side stand.. It is much better made, stronger, has a nice design MV logo and comes in either black or silver..

It fits direct on to the pre 2010 model bikes, and you still retain the earlier original mounting bracket and return spring arrangement..

You can buy this later stand from MV for about ÂŁ110..

Hope this helps, and good luck with what ever choice you make in the end.
