Dear community,

I am not native English speaker, so please forgive me some mistakes and misspelling.

I registered just few days ago to this forum. Once I participated in mv agusta yahoo group, riding with some of them to the mv agusta meeting at the factory in 2002 I think. There Phil Read and Giacomo Agostini signed my F4 1+1 from y 2000.

I live near Lugano (Switzerland).

Now my son (13y old) asked me to get the F4 back to life. The official dealer wasn't so happy to do it for me, so I started by myself.

I was looking for some information to get off the oil filter without dismantling radiator and collector. No information. I couldn't do it even with the special MV oilfilter tool. So I decided to take of radiator and collectors.

I found some concretions taking off the rubber tube coming from the water pump. So I wouldn't use the same cooling fluid again (violet color). I didn't find other concretions in radiator or other tubes. I will use some G13 life long radiator fluid mixed 50:50 with normal tap water. Once I would have used distilled water, but it seems there are some negative aspects to do so.

On the magnetic oil screw I found metallic sediments a friend (mechanic) told me to be normal in motorcycles where oil is going through clutch and gear.

Instead of the Champion spark plugs I chose the NGK CR9EB. Fuel filter will be Knecht KL 145, oil filter - I still have an original one which I will fit for flushing, than I will mount the HF 554 without lock ring, I cleaned and oiled the stock air filter, I ordered Pirelli Diablo corsa. Oil is Motul 300V. I didn't decide what in tank product to use to replace the fuel line in the tank. New brake/clutch fluid will be normal DOT4.

I'm thinking about checking the rear wheel hub and changing the grease. The hub was changed (broken) just small time before stopping the F4.

Any comments or suggestions?

Many thanks
Georg

Welcome.
If you want to change the in-tank fuel lines while you are in there, I have the correct J30 R10 Gates high pressure hose and the 5/16" single wall Buna-N tubing for the drain lines.

PM me an address and I can ship out to you. Pay Pal works for funds transfer. It will cost around $30.00 USD.

Hello out there :)

I didn't find the right place to put int the information / correct dimensions for the following O-rings I was looking for in this forum but with no result.

I got yesterday from a local store:

O-ring for water pump outlet: original part number 8000 17679 / OR 3156 (NBR 70): 39,34 x 2,62 mm
O-ring for oil/water heat exchanger: or. part nr. 8000 89437: 61,91 x 3,53 mm
O-ring for tank flange or. part nr. 8000 90939, D117: 117 x 3,53

I hope these parts are the right ones and the information is helpful for other people like me doing some work on the bike with no chance to get the parts in time from official MV dealer.

Have a nice time
Georg

Hi Georg.
I got your email and will respond to it tonight when I get home, in the meantime you asked about the fuel lines, this is where you should be looking too - http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2047930#post2047930 - Thread number #13 and #33 I think .
Good luck.

PS. Let me know if that O-Ring you're putting into the heat exchanger works since the one coming out is not an O-ring, or am I thinking of something else ?
