Hello all. I’ve searched the forums a bit first. My 12k mile 1078 B4 stopped running as I parked. I had been in slow highway traffic in 90s F ambient and 205-212 F displayed on dash. Starter button now does nothing. Dash startup sequences as normal. Fuel is in the tank and pump primes.

Suggestions before I pull my tank etc. in a Starbucks parking lot?

Check the wires at the start solenoid. The four pin connector is right behind the battery box.

Have you check the kickstand sensor? Clutch switch?

Bike starts when brake lever or pedal actuated. Looks like rear running light is grounding ignition. Will trace tomorrow.

The bike starts and runs with either brake control actuated. Doesn’t start or run without doing so. I’ll test and trace later today

Is there some crossed over wiring? Maybe for the clutch switch?

When the circuit for either brake light switch is completed, bike starts and runs. I suspect the integrated LED. Running light on (no brakes applied) = no start. Brake light on (brakes applied) = start. Release brake = bike dies. Fuel pump primes. Something is killing power to or from from starter/kill switch control to the starter and ignition. I’ll figure it out.

I rode it home after a couple hours and lattes with the rear brake sensor backed out. Beats a tow

Bike ever washed with water?

Blown brake light fuse. Fuse replaced. Fuse hasn’t blown again. Bike starts and runs. Didn’t have a fuse puller yesterday.
