I dropped my bike !!! SHIT!!
SO there i am trying to air up my tires... the front air valve is just behind the fork leg... i need to move it forward about 1".
the surface the bike is on is slightly slanted, about 5deg, so the bike on its kickstand is leaning another 5deg more, which normaly wouldnt matter....
So im on the other side of the bike... i pull the bike off the kickstand(i think) and inch it forward then proceed to lean it back onto the stand(the engine was running, so if the kickstand went back up i wouldnt have heard it) and it keeps going over, and by the time I figure the kickstand isnt holding it, its too late... its going over and i cant hold it up!!!! :bawling:

Im so pissed!!!

the only redemption it that there is no paint damage!!! (custom painted)
But the mirror broke off.... end of the clutch lever.... signal lense.... shift lever end piece bent.... and.... the whatever cover that has "F4" on it

any one have these parts cheap???

not to mention my battery died, and my HID ignitor box went out.... and the day before when the battery died, I stalled it twice, at night, and had to walk the bike both times till i found someone to give me a jump....
somebody shoot me :lightning
not to mention it was freezing and I couldnt feel my fingers, and I was shivering so much I thought I was going to loose control of the bike
good thing I dont own a gun..

Mike, sorry to hear about your misfortune. You're very lucky the bike didn't knock itself into gear when it fell and cause even more damage to the bike, to you or to others nearby...

The silver lining in this dark cloud is those who don't know the basics could learn something from this...

~ NEVER move a motorcycle while standing on the side opposite the kickstand.

~ NEVER move a motorcycle that is running unless you are ON the motorcycle and in a position to operate the controls, i.e., brakes and clutch.

IMO, it's not a good idea to allow a motorcycle to run at all unless the operator is aboard or the motorcycle is properly secured as in a repair shop, on a dyno or on a stand before a race. Personally, I don't even warm 'em up wihtout rider aboard. Stuff happens. If you let it.

as my partner's dad used to tell all of us: "if money can fix it, it AIN'T broke!"

good words to live by, i think

Yeah, but too much of that approach and soon *you* might be (broke, that is) ;)

Or, as Alfred E. Newman once said, "Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make 'em all yourself."

well the reason i left the bike running, and rode the bike in the first place, was to charge up the battery I just put in!. And i think the second jump I got the day before is what messed up my HID box, and almost the Tach (tach didnt work after the second jump) cause the guy was using a jumper box, and the contact was poor and it was giving power intermitantly about 100 times a sec.

yes ill make sure to be on the kick stand side always from now on, But i figured all i needed was an inch!

So does anyone have these parts??

I've pushstarted mine a couple of times, with someone's help. Don't know if this will work if battery is completely dead though.
