Now that it's getting warmer, the F4 hates the city/traffic more and more. I read about the OEM MV pump and impeller upgrade as well as the Design Corse racing water pump upgrade. However, the only feedback I could find was from mid-last year. Anyone put some warmer miles on and have feedback to share about these upgrades? Worth it?

I want to upgrade from the stock pump and install Muzzy fans as well to help get temps down. Thanks!

I've fitted the OEM upgraded one, so far so good and about 5 degrees lower.

fitted OEM water pump upgrade and removed the cat by the full RG 3 exhaust system. but the biggest improvement was a microtec ECU with a mapping by chirs at x-bikes --- with the side effect of a much smoother and mind-blowing power delivery. never rises above 100 C and runs in general much cooler than the brutale.

I fitted one (and muzzy fan) and posted my initial observations on the end of the sticky about water pump upgrades.

Mine seems to run cooler at speed, but it still climbs up to about 94 around town. But it seems to cool quicker in less time when the ride speeds up again. I can leave the bike idling and it will reach but maintain 94 degrees and no more.

Note that I'm running distilled water at the moment as I wanted to put a few miles on it to check there were no leaks before switching to more expensive coolant.

I fitted the Design Corse pump awhile ago and it helps slightly.Good at speed, temps come down quicker but when idling at traffic lights temp still rises. Also one downside with the pump there is no relief hole so in the future if the seal fails it will push coolant into the engine.Microtec is the best solution. If you are after a cheap fix then fit a fan over-ride switch so you can turn the fans on early to avoid overheating.

Can you tell me more about the Micro Tec M-226? Can't find a thread about it. Where do I get it? How do I install / program it? Cost?

I live in Dallas, Texas. As soon as the air temps get above 85F my bike overheats ('08 F4 312 R). I've got the Muzzy fans, accessory fan, upgraded MV water pump, Water Wetter, fan over-ride switch, and my temp still climbs to 230+F on a hot day and flashes at me ... and there is no air in the system! Have to hit the kill switch and let the fans run at a stop light! The only fix I've found so far is to take off the fairings. Been thinking about the Design Corse race pump but sounds like it's not the answer. Emailed Design Corse and they told me the only cure would be their race pump AND their CF vented fairings. Thanks for input.
