Hey Fro,
1090RR is definitely a bigger bike overall and would certainly help out with your leg, but you can get all sorts of sexy rearsets for the 1078RR to give you more room. You really should ride one of each and see which one makes you smile more.

I am 6 2" and weigh 91 kilos, I have a 1078 RR. Get a nice pair of rearsets with a grippy peg. You will love it! I can ride mine all day long without issue.

Rode my 910R from England to Germany in a day with no issues and I'm 6'1" and 94kg. Pegs would make it more roomy but if you adjust the standard ones down you don't really compromise clearance for road riding and its really not bad. You can also get a higher saddle too from MV if its really an issue. So if you like the older bikes compared to the new ones (I do) then there's really no reason not to have a 1078.

I still have my stock rearsets on my 1078 and the bike has been stored for the past year. I am overseas now but i have ordered some Motocorse things to bolt on when i get home.
Honestly i knew right away that the stock rearsets would be a small problem, I could not squeeze the fuel tank with my legs and shift at the same time.

Left leg doing a sort of whip out for upshifts and the wind drag catches it. I adjusted the stockers down as far as they would go but i still need maybe half an inch more.

So i ordered some Motocorse rearset adjusters and the full M/C rearsets are next on the list.
But all in all the bike is absolutely brilliant, I was extremely satisfied with everything else about it.

The new rearsets will just make it a bit more comfortable and look a lot nicer than stock.

Gutsy performance has them.

Hey Fro, for what it's worth, when I was hunting my Brutale down, reference prices were '09 1078 for $16800, '10 1078 for $17800 (ride away prices).
If you want a more civilised ride, spring the extra for the '11 1090 - I did. Traction control, wet/dry fuel maps, rear hub redesign, updated water pump, lower footpegs etc etc.

Hey, I'm 6'3" and 90kgs and love the brutale. Can sit in the saddle for hours at a time and not feel overly cramped or sore.

As mentioned, upgrading the pegs is a worthwhile mod, and you'll find the bike is very rewarding to ride.
