Hello Everyone,

Excited to start riding my brutale soon, after another brutal winter in northern Illinois.

I have decided to have the exhaust high temp coated in black...just the headers and midpipe, not the muffler. My bike came with Arrow exhaust and midpipe...headers are stock.

If I remove the headers and midpipe, will I need new header gaskets? If so where can I order the gaskets? How tough of a job is it? The last thing I want is the header leaking.

Any advice on this?

Thanks!

not difficult. The radiator will need to be loosened and moved forward but the clamps which hold the headers in place are easy to work with

The gaskets are reusable. Sometimes they stay in the bore of the head, sometimes they bounce around the garage floor, sometimes they stick to the header. The nuts and bolts that hold the header in place are not torqued very tightly. Make sure you torque to spec so you don't risk snapping a stud.

Since you are coating your headers to black, do you plan in using a heat resistant ceramic coating like Jett-Hot?
