Interesting!

My question is, beside the power difference between EURO3 and EURO4 bikes, are the new ones getting more reliable? In my case I am choosing between a brand new E4 bike and a low km 2017 E3 f3 800.

What would you think?

If it was me, id get the new E4 bike. There are several updates supposedly with the benefit of improved reliability.

Engine - updated valve springs, guides and cam to improve reliability
Updated Starter Sprag (this one is supposed to be the right one)
Updated Rear Cush drive setup (similar to the F4)
Up-down blipper standard (not sure if the E3 has it, - you can activite is later yourself, but nice to have it stock)
Smoother (harmonic balancer on the head), better fueling stratagies
Updated front engine - frame mount
Updated clutch basket (for improved reliability)

There are several videos with Brian Gillan on facebook showing the updates.

I got a modelyear 2017, I went to the dealer in August to remove my power restriction and I specifictly asked them to activate the auto blipper.
NOT possible with stock ECU.

I'd go for a Euro 4 aswell, but aftermarket exhaust is a must bequase that Brutale exhaust looks really bad on the F3.
Firetong exhaust maybe...?!?! ;)

PS: had a brainfart.. I got a 675cc and not a 800cc.
Still go for newer bike, more R&D was put into 2018 to increase reliability.

Sorry but I have mistaken the manufaturing year of my E3 option, It was manufatured in 2015, registered in 2017. What if I tell you now... this would be a F3 800 ago? It just looks wonderful

I'd say get the new bike with all the newest fixes. Ago is just a paint job. Sure it's nice looking but I'll take the *fingers crossed* upgraded reliability and other things on the new bike.

In my opinion, the AGO is not worth it. Just color and bling, absolute zero performance or riding updates over the standard and you might still have the same reliability issues. Unless it is a good price that you can sell later without taking too much of a knock, I would still go with the E4.

Thank you guys, you just made things more difficult hahaha 2018 sounds like a proper good bike. All these updates and upgrades really calm me down when it comes to my concern to Mv´s reliability. But Ago is just sexy, I know I know it just about the paint job and cool wheels, but I went to see the bike (3hr drive from here) and it looks stunning.

Probably I will get the E4 in the end but just can´t shut my demon up haha. Thanks again for your opinions

Haha, E4 would be the wiser decision. But an Ago is an Ago though :grin2:

The sprag on the Euro4 engines still fail...Mine has failed. The gear sensor also failed within the first few miles which came with new engine.
My bike is 2014 but engine is 2018 because of dropped valve. It was built in mid September of 2017 and was delayed from being shipped from factory because of the latest head design.
The engine is a little less noisy then previous years.
I would look for a older model year that is still new, not has been registered so you would still have 2 year warranty. The prices for 2014-2016 new F3s are insanely low from what I have seen.
My bike is 2014. I got it in March 2016. New in crat and paid $10,200 delivered to my door. Big savings for little difference between model years but had lots of issues ?

Hahaha it's a tough call... Actually if E4 engines still have reliability issues means as user you still have to deal with same old stories with E3 therefore maybe the Ago is a go hahaha ( just trying to convince myself) The Ago I went to see was never registered, therefore it would be sold as "new" with 2 years of guarantee. Now it doesn't sound that bad ahahaha
