I traded my Brutale in on a new F4. I've done about 1800km, yesterday when I was fitting a radiator guard I realized that some of the bolts on bike were really loose. I then proceeded to check every bolt I could see including the ones on motor and all of them felt like they weren't tight enough. Is this normal or should I get out the torque wrench and retighten everything. I didn't have this issue on the Brut.

At dealer prep for sale the bikes fasteners should have been checked.
At first service the fasteners should have been checked.

Having said all that, in use a bikes fasteners can loosen a bit an doesn't hurt to have a couple of torque wrenches handy.

I lost an exhaust hangar bolt, just replaced it. Thank goodness exhaust shifted/ tilted only a tiny bit before I noticed it. Loctite! No biggie, they all do that. Need to work the kinks out such as loose bolts when bike is new. Once all the little things are worked out then it will be good for a long time, same as my Duc.

I also lost one exhaust bolt on the rear (Left - under seat - exhaust hanging down about an inch on that side) bracket as well; so far the new bolt is holding.

I "twice" lost my kickstand bolt (Loctite fixed that one on the 3rd try) and I've once lost the left steering damper bolt (which I had to have the dealer order) and they replaced it on my last service.
Seems like loose bolts are a common (more so then not) problem on the F4. I have all the trust in the world in my dealer (I do believe that they check them upon service) but, as stated above I once replaced the kickstand bolt; only to have it completely fall out again. On the 3rd bolt it took the Loctite to finally put my mind at ease w/ the bolt !?! -Davis
