Tried to search shop manual on what the best process is to replace rear brake pads on 1090RR. It advised to remove rear wheel. is it possible to change pads without removing the rear wheel?
what socket would I need to remove the wheel?The rear wheel is removed in order to facilitate easier access to the components.
The pin that holds the pads in place is removed from the left side of the bike.
If you feel like working in and encumbered space and you have good dexterity, then you should be able to replace the pads without removing the rear wheel.
That being said: why wouldn't you remove the rear wheel and do a clean and inspect of the components back there?
Thanks, I also heard from a dealer that a standard 55mm socket will work as well.tonymopar440;
Sooner or later you'll need to replace the back tire..... and need the special
socket
Get the one Chuck recommended Speedymoto #04-0203
But buy it directly from Speedymoto..... mention this Forum and they'll give you a discount:wink2:
