What are the differences between these two models? Did the bike get updated at all?

Is that it? Engine, electronics, suspension, software.. nothing?

There are some good deals on low mileage 2012's :)
Worth checking, but I thought 2014 gets the Eldor ecu for a start?
At some point in the history of the 1090RR it picked up some of the engine parts from the F4. There was an increase of hp at the expense of midrange torque. The final drive ratio was changed to compensate for the loss of low end grunt.
Trim details changed, such as the cover over the exhaust flapper valve and radiator side covers.

The overall spec of the bikes seems to be different too, according to which country is being supplied. E.g. ABS mandatory for Europe?
The 14 model year is exactly the same as in 13 - so no changes at all. The old Magneti Marelli 5SM still is alive ;) .

The 13 model year had a grey engine and new grey wheels, a different cockpit fairing with LED position lights. In 13 they introduced an optional ABS, in 14 standard.

AFAIK no technical differences between the 12 and 13 model year.

With some minor mods and mapped mine has 180 hp and app. 115 Nm at the crank.

Cannot wait for the riding season :brutale:.

the 2012 model has the lighter forged wheels in them
same as now used on the corsa
also tig HAND welded frame much cleaner and somewhat lighter
no engine changes..
the 2012 is the last off the REAL RR`s:yo:
cheers

Prior to 2013, RR model had hand made chromoly tig welded frame, more horsepower due to 49mm throttle bodies with high lift cams and shorter inlet manifolds, this increases rev limit by 600 rpm, marchesini wheels, better front brakes, steering damper, better rear shock and a slipper clutch. 2013RR went back mig welded steel frame.Slight body panel changes between models, muffler tips different and wheels
Man, I was trying to hold out for a Dragster, but this thread is making me want to buy a couple year old 1090RR
and shorter inlet manifolds, this increases rev limit by 600 rpm,
Not really. In all dyno charts I found the rev limiter is set to 11600 rpm as on the R. Mine also only did 11600 rpm.

Whoops was quoting from net, 250 on my brute is well fast enough! Awesome feeling when you hit a ripple in the road at top speed and she gently lofts front in controlled wheelie, fantastic handling at high speed for a naked
in addition... the fender is a little different on the 13s and I believe some LED lighting around the headlamp?

find a 12....the money saved will buy you a microtek ECU from the English chap!
