Why wouldn't you get the 2010 latest and greatest?

I would have problems convincing myself to buy a super seeded model for more than the new model.

I would go for the new one at that price. Get some bells and whistles and a bit better resale with the newer model.

Without doubt go for the 2010, at those prices. I wouldn't consider the price of the 1078 that you have been quoted competitive or realistic in the current US market.

New one....unless they drop 4 grand off the old one
+1

I prefer the 1078, but that price is too high now that the '10 is here and most buyers will have the predominant attitude shown in this thread, that is they want the perceived "latest and greatest."

Its a no brainer, get the 2010 model it fantasic. I was in the same position as yourself, but in my case the 1078 was selling for £12,000 reduced from £16,400 and the 2010 F4 was £14,250, having purchased the 2010 model I can honestly say it was the best decision,:)

I'm surprise there were so many voting for the 2010. I would have thought the other way around. But, I'd vote the 2010 also. More fun to ride than to look at -and I like the way it looks.

If he would drop the price for the 1078, I would definitely take the 1078.
It looks better then the 2010 model (just my humble opinion), doesn't have the all digital display (not a big fan of those) and it still has the 4 round exhaust pipes, which is typical MV and looks a lot better then the square pipes.
Who came on the crazy idea to put square pipes on a MV anyways :wtf:

But hey, that's is just me, just buy the bike that makes you happy :)

Why ?

It's the brand new model, looks much the same, and many of the previous niggles removed. It's lighter, easier to ride, easier to go fast on.....
Of course people are going to jump all over it :)

The guys who will buy remaining/secondhand 312's or 1078s are the ones who A: Get a stupid low deal, B: Adore the original shape or C: cant quite stretch to the price of the new one.

I'm probably in boat C....I want a low km 312 to track. Prices in Australia mean that's going to be about a 6-8k cheaper outlay than the new one. For me, that is the clincher.

That's a lot of tires and track days in 8K !!!
