I'm trying to trace a small oil leak, (small enough enough that I've never noticed any accumulation on the ground when parked in garage). It originates from what looks most likely the upper oil adduction tube or possibly the center of the cam cover near the oil adduction tube. I just got in there and started cleaning the accumulated oil and road grime after removing the the exhaust and radiator fan and pulling the radiator & oil cooler off their frame mounts (while leaving hoses attached).

[Speaking of radiator - I've never seen hose clamps like this before. Are the radiator hose clamps reusable and what tool do I need to remove and replace?]

There was quite a build up of oil & grime around the top and bottom as well the length of the adduction tube (as well as the down the face of the engine around the exhaust ports all the way down to the sump). This makes me think the culprit is the upper adduction tube o-ring as it doesn't seem likely that a leaking cam cover would allow oil to drip towards the front of the bike against the wind as well as slightly upwards on the start of the adduction tube and finally works its way down the whole tube.

Is there any other potential leak areas besides the cam cover and oil adduction tube o-ring in that area? I'm inclined to swap the o-rings on the tube as a start since that doesn't necessitate dropping the engine from the frame and seems like a good starting place.
I think I'll drain and pull the radiator today clean everything tidy and spray some aresol foot powder in the area. Unfortunately I think I'll probably have pull the exhaust and radiator and associated hardware again to get a clear enough view if the leak still occurs but I guess such is life.

Any advice is appreciated.

The Clic-R clamps are reusable

The pliers for removing the Clic-R clamps are available on eBay for $17-$20

The leak is most likely the valve cover gasket, because the Factory only uses sealant at

the cam cutouts.....you want to seal both sides of the gasket ALL the way around

Use a very light coat of silicone form-a-gasket

Also seal the 8 valve cover bolts and the F4 cover on the left side of the motor

While playing.....remove the side stand and tighten the pan bolts BEFORE removing the

side stand switch put a small zip tie on both wires going to the plugs

Unfortunately you can switch plugs with the speed sensor..... And blow a fuse
