It was a beautiful morning on the hill today (Ortega)...I had to take my trusty R1 out and cause trouble. I ran the Elsinore side to the Candy Store twice, stopping at the Overlook Road House on my second trip down the mountain, to meet a friend and his riding group. Upon arrival, I spotted this clean F4, but I couldn't find the rider...Who was it??? It is a 1+1 converted to a solo seat, and had a nice CF hugger on it.

Later, as I was chatting with my friend Mark and his buddies, "Steve" pulled up on his F4 with a Team colored Desmo in tow...

The Desmo drew quite a crowd, and I offered the owner that I would happily take it out to help remove the Chicken Strips for him...More like Chicken Filets!!!

He said no.

I said my goodbye's and set sail for Tom's Farms where I inhaled their world famous Ham and Eggs plate, before wheelieing my way home up the backroads of Corona.

Another great morning in the sun.

Ozboy....'How could someone ride a bike like that and have chicken strips that wide!'

We all know what he paid for it and we are lucky to see it on the road!!!!!!

It isn't quite as bad as I am making it out to be...It was ONE of his first rides, and he was wearing jeans :jsm:...I don't know about you, but when I ride in jeans (without knee-cups) I start thinking about my expensive knees more than my expensive bikes, for one thing.

Here is the Hi-rez (just my Canon G9, sorry), if you load it full and look closely, he is working his way out to the edge, it's just starting to scuff out that direction, he just hasn't been on the throttle on the edge yet...For which I recommend leathers whether your bike costs $70K or not!

The rest of the fulls are in that same album, at the end...

Just having some fun, purely driven by my raging jealousy!

Yes, and that is a 200 rear tire.....I would take my Bimota YB8 out with a new tire and have it worn to the edge in 30 miles....even the arrows gone. I have 600 miles on the D16RR and still have a good 3/8" that hasn't seen, much left felt, the tarmac yet.

Running in isn't much of an excuse, as it can make almost 90 MPH within guidelines, but I admit that I don't want to bin it before the 1000km service and am definately not riding it as hard as a $10K bike......YET. ALSO, the stock suspension settings are harsh and I didn't get around to fiddling with them until the 3rd ride, when I already had 480 miles on it. NOW, I feel much more confident in both ends. BTW, the 1098R was missing the chicken strips after this many miles, but only a 190 tire and the suspension was perfect for me as to street pace.

Noticed it has NO license plate....was this photoshopped out for security, or do people feel comfortable riding without plates in Kalifornia? No way would I do that in Texas.....
