Here are some pictures of my two 175 cc projects. I got them about 30 years ago but until now never had the time to care about. Last year I'started with the CSTL. New rims spokes and wheel bearings, new brakes, new steering bearing and a new bearing for the rear fork. Also new sproket for the chain. A freand of mine just do the cylinder head and the cylinder got a new high compression piston from GPM. Now I'm waiting till I get back the engine parts to reassemble it. I never put such an engine together before so I'm a bit afraid if it will work.

I'm now looking for some front footrests to have the bike complete.

The red one probably is an CS from 1957 cause it was made with alloy rims. It's a real wreck but I hope to get all the parts to rebuilt it. What do you think about the front fork. Is it the original one? I think it perhaps had changed because under the red color it is painted black. Not like the frame and the other parts.

Most MV Sport 175 bikes came with alloy rims. I'd bet that front fork and front fender were damaged and replaced with parts taken from a 1957 CSGT, which explains the black paint under the red.

The cigar muffler hanging on your CSTL is also a 1957 CSGT piece. But the original 1956 fishtail muffler is lying there on the table.

On your Sport, the flat battery tray and the raised letters on the motor case covers mean it was probably made before 1957.

Where is GPM? That piston will give the CSTL a real nice power boost if you also open up the CSTL 18mm intake stub for a larger carburetor, 22mm is good.

Lastly, it's cool to see inside your workshop! Where in Germany are you located?

I'm living nearby Göttingen just in the middle of Germany. It's rather hilly hear and reajy nice to have some motorbike trips. GPM is the manufacture of the piston. I think they are from Italy. Please excuse my bad English. I think of 22 carburator too, because of the higher compression. And I think the engine doesn't have a Problem with a greater intake.
