Depends on which model 910R I guess...some other expert can chip in but as far as I know there's a Euro 2/3 model (using the 5SM ECU) and a pre-Euro2/3 model which uses the 16M ECU. What year is the engine? Also depending on which year Brutale you may need to butcher the wiring harness specifically around the temp sender in the head and radiator (Euro 2/3 models don't have the sensor in the radiator like the 01 750). Also the coil packs on the Brutale vs the F4 is different. Lastly check if there's the emissions gear on the 910R you're looking at, namely the aux air solenoid and associated piping.

Besides the ECU you will need to transfer the cooling system from the F4 to the Brutale motor, which means:
- Swapping the piping at the rear of the head.
- Swapping the water pump to radiator pipe
- Swapping oil cooler block (located on the bottom of the engine)
- Swapping the oil filter block
- Swapping the radiator bracketing (located mid-engine)

Apart from that, everything else is the same. Basically you'll need to strip a few bits from the F4 and bolt them to the Brutie. Not hard, you could knock it over in a couple of days really...just be prepared to buy some PITA bits and bobs unless the Brutale is a complete bike

Good luck!

Having had a 2004 750 Brutale and a 2008 910R next to each in my garage for a while I wouldn't be game to try a later 910 engine. If the engine you have uses the same ecu as your 750 then maybe.

As Elwin says above it's not as straight forward as it might look at first glance.

Of course, it can be done, but expect a lot of little things that need to be sorted and maybe a few bigger things!

Can I ask what are you hoping to gain? A fit 750s engine is well capable of a real 120+bhp, admittedly it is not a torque monster.

A 910 Brutale is around 130, more torque but not a world away. The Brutale is tuned different than a 750 motor. So a lot of work for a small improvement IMHO.

750 to 1000s or 1000r is more popular and with the S certainly less hassle.

Not saying it's a bad idea, just asking.

I'm starting to see this May not be the way to go, I've alwYs wanted to do the 1000cc swap due to the lack of low end grunt of the 750 I broke a clip off of one of the injectors during a tune up of the 750 and while looking for the injector I found a complete 910r motor and decided to go for it.... Any chance I could still use the 910 injectors and EPROM?

Cass, I do believe the injectors are exackly the same, PM Noel the Knurl on here he knows all about them.

Not sure why you want the 910 EPROM, it would plug in the 1.6M ECU but wont do you any favours, if your looking for an EPROM for the 750 to sort a fueling problem or to switch your fans on earlier you need to PM my good friend and neighbor Merc07 Adam on here, he is the EPROM guru and can supply you with a new one which will work better than the standard MV one.

I guess I would really like to use these injectors from the 910r in the 750, even if a custom map or possibly more would be necessary to give me a little more power (and would be fun to tinker with)

So far the biggest difference in the two motors are the header intake mounts, as the 750s uses 2 studs per outlet and the 910r uses one stud per 2 outlets (and that weird X bracket) other than that all the oil filter/cooling blocks seem to be just add ons from basically the same block, as well as a few internals behind the clutch assy. Kinda strange the 750s seems better built than the 910r motor....

If your 910R engine is the pre-5SM ECU type then I would go for it. The ECU is the key, as all the wiring and sensors and emissions systems will work. As mentioned, some specific F4 items related to cooling system would need to be swapped from one to the other, and you would need to use the 910 EPROM, but would definitely give you more bottom end.
Bear in mind, the 910 has different final drive gearing so your speedo will be off, but that can be corrected with a speedo doctor or yellow box.

Is there a way I can identify the motor I have? Again I only have the motor,EPROM & injectors. The plan again is the 910r motor into my 00 F4 750s

The Euro3 motors have a second air system in the head....identifiable by 2 square caps on the valve cover in between cylinders 1-2 and 3-4 with 12 mm hose spigots.

Yes....but you will still need to do the TPS setting and CO trim on the ECU.
Suspect the air box and exhaust may affect fueling too.....a power commander may be needed to get it right.

I did the transplant of a 2007 910R Brutale engine into my 2004 750S Brutale. The donor engine came with headers, injectors so the only change out was the ECU. I opted for the EPROM chip upgrade from ebay for the midpipe and airfilter and it has been running perfectly now for 3 years. There were no electrical hook up issues I encountered either. I gather the 2007 is sort of the last option as there were design changes after that. I like the lazy power and extra torque of the 910R, it has a strong mid range which is what I prefer.
