Where are you based? But yeah - once the new part is fitted it should start just fine - but need the latest ECU map to be sure that it continues that way.

It does sound like the sprag. If you have a 3rd party warranty then it should cover the starter mechanism and the fitting of it. If it doesn't cover that then you should be able to get the new part...

No - he's going to take the cover off the next scheduled minor service and have a look-see. But yes, the next proper valve service is a while off.

That was at just above idle. Automotive batteries need between 14v and 15v to charge. Which is why I said to raise the rpm to 4000-5000
