What a terrible thing to happen at that specific event, terrible anytime, but this seems to make it worse. Best to all friends and family left behind.

It would seem that the FMI cancelled the rest of the event, but on request from fellow riders it was restarted, with funds raised now being shared between the Simoncelli family and Doriano's family.

What a tragedy!

I have great memories of Doriano competing when the 250 race was always the highlight of the day;
His battles with Biaggi, Capirossi & co were fantastic!
What a loss!

R.I.P.

Unbelievably tragic! RIP Rambo and SuperSic.

Is it just me or are we seeing an increase of professional motorcycle racing fatalities over the last few years? Kind of started with Kato's accident.

Just two weeks ago we lost one of the world's best off road rider Curt Caselli at the Baja 1000...

Tragic.

The circumstances are just astounding.

RIP

Dam shame, I also remember watching all the great 250 cc battles, tragic circumstances, just watching the Fast Five on TV after Paul Walker was killed in a car crash just last weekend, Life can be very cruel at times.
