Paint Concerns

Just put a beautiful paint job on the bike final buff was two days ago. The gentleman who painted it told me not to wash or wax the bike for a month to wait for the clear to ure and harden 100%. I took it for a spin today and went to fill her up. Made a rookie mistake and sprayed a few drops of gas on the tank. As soon as I got home about 30/40 mins later I took a soft clothe added warm water and gently went over the tank. Will it effect the clear or the paint? Or should I be ok ?!

As far as I know it should be okay. Especially if you just took a soft cloth and some water.

You'll be fine...so will your paint.

If you wiped off the fuel immediately, then went back over the tank once home you should be ok. If you let those drops stay there then you might want to keep an eye out for splotches/hazing. If it never shows up consider yourself lucky. Any ALWAYS carry a rag(or soft papertowel) in the trunk just for this kind of thing.

As a coatings company employee, you'll have no issues.

You'd be surprised what you could spill on there.
