HD GoPro Hero Deal

I know this should probably go in Classifieds, but I saw this on another forum and it was an impulse buy (i.e. I wasn't looking for one, but this deal was too good to pass up).

HD GoPro Motorsports Hero for $213 shipped (US dollars and shipping).

For anyone that wants to capture video while riding, or doing anything else outside, this is a great cam.

Disclosure: I have no interest in the company or the website, just trying to pass on a good deal.

That camera suction to the helmet or something?

That video is funny. Suppose its all you can do on a bike when you're in flat NC (go around some highway 270 degree onramps a few times and head to taco bell)

That video is definitely a weak demonstration.

This page has some MUCH better examples:

anyone know the pros/cons of the gopro vs that Vhold Contour HD one?

the go pro seems to have a good following but the Vhold looks like it may work better on a bike

I have the contour and is mounted to my helmet, I've also set it up to shoot off the rear seat (brutale). HD mode ( i have first gen model) is a little jumpy. SD mode is much better 60 fps. Here is a video and there is also some raw unedited footage on my youtube channel

I have a few friends that have the standard go pro and IMHO it's great for shooting yourself as you ride, but if you film someone else you need to be on there rear tyre to see them.

I always wondered what those shiny things sticking out of the side of the fairing were for - they're for hanging your takaway on!

i recently got the HD Pro with the car kit, and having four mounts, a suction cup and a couple others if very nice. The quality of the video's are amazing! I was also glad it can handle a 32 GB card, leaves lots of room for shotting!

Guys,

A word of caution: Lots of people, (myself included), have been having problems with the new GoPro Hero digital camera. I bought one through a group buy over on our sister site, www.ducatispot.com. Initially, I was unable to get the battery to hold a charge. The battery ultimately took a charge, but now, when I think I'm recording video footage, the camera only takes a still picture.

I initally thought I had inadvertantly switched the camera setting from video, (the default setting), to picture, but then I did a bit of internet research and discovered serveral threads wherein people described having the exact same problems I was having.

There are some issues with some of these cameras!
