'always ground added electronics directly to the battery'..... to quote a builder of bulletproof ECUs, injection systems and other motorcycle electronics

mrossk double check that you're getting a good ground. Paint on the frame can act as an insulator.

Gmass28 What make and model is your detector? Does it work when you use it in a car? I have had Bel STI Driver's installed on my F4's (also hardwired to the battery and grounded to the frame) and they have worked quite well - only problem is my laser jammer sets the radar detector's LIDAR detection off, but you can turn that option off.

Radar detector problem.

I've got my radar detector hard wired to the battery and grounded to a spot on the frame. This is the second ground location I have tried but I continue to have the same problem. The laser detector goes off constantly (like 9 out of 10 minutes at least). Has anyone else had any issues running a radar detector on the F4?
