This bike has been kicking around for awhile. Several of us have inquired about import to the US...to no avail. I would live to own a Veltro...Pista or Strada!
I've been kicking around for awhile too, always looking at MVs for sale, so guess I just missed this one. Don't recall ever seeing it. I do remember seeing a Pista on eBay some time ago.
Seems like a good price though? I would think it would be even more desirable than a CC or Tamburini?
For me, on physical merit alone, the CC wins. The details are incredible, up close and personal. The Veltro, not so much. I like the Tamburini scheme the best. Performance wise, we all know the winner. Perhaps desire is relative, even amongst MV Agusta aficionados.
Its seems strange to think the CC is common compared the the Veltro but it is. There are approximately 25 Veltro models in existence and I personally think the Veltro is more desirable.
Please tell me how. What I discovered was that I could bring one in “for display purposes only” and that it would never be legal to ride on public roads for threat of impound.
There are steps you can take....people import vehicles all the time.
A lot of it has to do with NHSTA standards (lights and such). The emissions part is not really hard as the Euro standards are pretty much the same as the US (except California). An inspection is required, or documentation of adhering to the federal standards.
I see highly illegal imported cars running around the streets of FL all the time that are not legal to own in the states with license plates and fully insured. Hell there are guys now riding around the streets down here the 4 seat, side by side atv's. With street tires and a FL license plate on the back.
Just where I live I get to see a Pagani on the streets pretty often.
Upon talking to one guy with an Skyline R34 was to cover his ass he went and started an LLC and got his dealer license. Now whenever he takes one of his toys out for a spin that has not cleared the 25 year rule he attaches the dealer license plate... Problem solved.
I have also heard of people importing them into Canada and driving/riding them across the border.
