Im Nate. I met F4 owner- ED at the track this weekend, who is a member here, no idea screen name.. and he pointed me to the forum. saved my @$$ too as i didnt have a stand to loosen up my chain that was crazy tight. I havnt been on forums pretty much since social media took over- #NTGatVE

I took out my FZ-09, he had no idea it was me and we had a blast passing each other. Then i got on a Tuono 1100 and didnt see him after leaving the pits :-/ We never crossed when i was actually out on the F4. but at least i got a pic.

Here to learn anything and everything of my new money pit and to share whatever knowledge i can!

I think this is a photo of Nate chasing me on his FZ09..... We did have a good time for a couple of laps.

Before you do the fork seal change try cleaning the seals. Sometimes small bits of dirt can get under the edge of the seal and will let oil ooze out. They make a tool used for this purpose or you can make one out of plastic. You need something thin enough to get between the edge of the seal and the fork tube and strong enough to not fall apart or bend. Do a search online

Just a sabbatical....

ive seen a DIY seal scraper similar.. cut out of old ID card or something. guess i should try. forks need a oil level window :p who knows how much fluid is gone :(

Has anyone bought the sato GP shift set? i just saw how it is on their site. $600?!?!!! china sets are 100 on ebay but probably dont come with that extra linkage eh? ugh

35 mm photographic film makes a good seal cleaner. A SealMate can be bought at Cycle Gear and plenty of other bike shops.

If the rear sets have a shift lever that pivots on the peg mount then it will have linkage to attach to the shift shaft on the engine. My problem with many cheap rear sets is they flex too much.

I have a set of cheap Chinese rear sets on my SPR, but the mount plates are very stiff so they work just fine.....no linkage though. Stock shift lever.

Hi, Nate!

Welcome to the family, I’m another Nashvillain.

I also enjoy 145 between Auburtown and Woodbury, as well as 53 leaving Woodbury on the way to the dam.

I hope we get to run into each other soon!

Cheers,

King
