Yes I know its a 2004. Those stickers with 2007 are not on my bike. I just got those pictures from this forum. But I need both stickers that say 2004 on them. So therefore im gonna try to hire someone to photoshop the stickers and print out new ones for my bike. That or someone send me a copy of there sticker that they have printed out already... IF SOMEONE WOULD BE SO KIND ILL PAYPAL YOU SOME MONEY ALSO!

I wonder if that sticker can be ordered from the factory? Have you asked a dealer? The part numbers are listed in the parts catalog.

If the bike was legally imported and sold in the USA, regardless of state. You should be able to get it registered in CA.

Was this bike registered for street use in Minnesota?
How many miles does it have?

Did you go to CA DMV yet?
If not you might be over thinking the process; especially what "DMV agents" are looking for or not.

Further, I would advise against counterfeiting an emissions compliance sticker.
Because if you get caught it will not end well...

Hi kongfob.
I know you've seen this thread but I'll post up a link here as it has plenty of info that may help others in the future.

https://www.mvagusta.net/forum/12-f...2056-2008-312r-emission-sticker-location.html

I don't have any of these decals as they were replicated in the USA based off the damaged decals I removed from a 312R. I'm in New Zealand. Based on that thread, contacting Florida based member bogie1072 may be the best way to work out how to replicate a decal as he's had this done before.

Hope that helps,
Dave.

I love all the comments from people OUTSIDE of CALIFORNIA........
You have no fucking clue......I've been dealing with the California DMV since '63
The DMV only checks VIN and engine numbers......they never check for stickers, because they
know everyone will try to counterfeit them.....like DOT stickers on Nazi Harley helmets, they're ALL fake
The DMV is worried about stolen vehicles and stolen motors, they don't about your pipes or smog stickies

kongfob;
There are 2 ways to do this
The DMV and AAA
Go to the DMV vehicle INSPECTOR and ask them what they need......take your paperwork with you and show
them what you have, you'll be surprised

1st take a carpenter's pencil and rub it all over the VIN, then take Scotch tape and make an impression of
The VIN and tape it to a sheet of clean white paper, then do the same with the motor number
This used to be required......they'll be surprised and like it
NO DMV EMPLOYEE IS GOING TO LIE ON THE GROUND TO READ YOUR MOTOR NUMBER, PERIOD!
Take smart phone pictures of the numbers on the day you go to the DMV
When you take the picture of the motor number......put your driver's license in the picture
You'll need the out of State registration and a bill of sale and or title
If you're a AAA member you can do it there.......I'm a member but have never done it there

When I registered my Brutale, the paperwork said it was an '09, the young lady looked at the VIN and it was
an '08, she changed it

California has no vehicle inspections, no sound tests.......nothing.... they just don't want stolen vehicles
Moonbeam raised the registration to $125 per year......all they want is the money:wink2:

Didn't listen did you?

Go to the DMV inspector that actually looks at the bike......show the inspector your paperwork
Ask if there's anything else you need......should only need out of state registration/title and bill of sale
Go back and reread my post about when you take the bike in
:wink2:

Tirefriar,
Agree my experience was long ago, and I'm sure things have changed since then.
That's why I mentioned the year twice in my story.

I have found over the years that a humble attitude goes a long way @ the CA DMV.
As always "your mileage (experience) may vary."

kingfob;
Also take a picture of the odometer reading before you go to the DMV along with the VIN and engine number
pictures
When you return to the DMV with all the necessary paperwork and bike......trailer it unless it has current
out of State registration and plate
Take something to lie on to read the motor number....DMV employees won't get down on the ground to read MV
motor numbers :grin2:

I got it registered!

I got the california sticker from ProItalia... luckily they had one in stock and sent it to me to right away...

Went to the DMV at Santa Teresa in San Jose. Rolled up to the inspection line and a nice filipino guy asked for the Minnesota title. He checked the VIN, checked the federal sticker on the left side of the of the steering column, checked the california emissions sticker that I put it in the stock location underneath the seat, checked the odometer, checked the engine number ( i put a old tshirt on the ground and gave him my flashlight... he seemed to like that i put the tshirt on the ground and told him to be careful of the hot exhaust and asked me if I was reselling this bike... I said no.). I told him there were only 300 ever made of this bike and we chit chat a little bit.

Ultimately... yea... if I didnt have the california emissions sticker he probably would have denied me.

Just glad I get to enjoy this bike! Would like to thank Nathan from Minnesota for making it a easy transaction!

Also... I sent a inquiry to MV Agusta USA through their website and someone contacted me asking if everything was okay with registering the SPR. Wow I wasnt expecting someone to contact me from MV.... thats fantastic service....

That looks like a nice example of an SPR!

Congrats on the successful registration.
