Sooooooo, now that we've had time to reflect on the last event (and to beat George to it! ), when're we going to start planning the Gapalicious 2018?!
In all seriousness, judging by the posts made on the last thread I think a great time was had by all and we've all expressed interest in next year so peeps, let's make it happen! :smile2:

So on the food front, It appears the number keeps changing. I am going to assume everyone listed above is planning on eating with us (except for Kevin, Ben & Kelly). Please let me know asap if you DO NOT plan on eating with us as I need to contact the caterer for an adjusted head count. Based on previous conversations with the caterer I expect the cost to be about $75 per person to include all meals as well as gratuity. Please plan on paying upon arrival, in cash, so I can get that out of the way.
I've been talking to a guy in the NE with an orange Brutale (mssmith33), and him and his buddy may come out as well. I'm sure you will know when I know.
2008 MV F4 312R - Can’t wait to see everyone and catch up with stories of past, present, and future. I’m not planning to tote the F4 along as I plan to keep the miles low at 42xx. If someone wants to make a LEGIT offer, I will the big girl along with the title. Giddy Up??✊?
Yep, I'm heading out Fri morning to make sure I get there before it gets too windy over here in Charlotte. Not even first full year out of FL and we have a hurricane.... wtf? :stickpoke
Hoping George and Charlotte will still be able to make it. They have a funeral in Chicago this wknd they will be at while a hurricane is knocking on there front door. Depending on how much damage it does will depend if they are able to make it.
On Friday or Saturday of Gapalicious, Mary and I will be leading a ride to Caffé Rel (https://www.facebook.com/CaffeRel ), in Franklin. Caffé Rel is the best French restaurant in NC, and we have eaten there numerous times, enjoying marvelous food. This ride will be a 2-2 1/2 hr., 97 mile ride each way. We'll go over the Cherohala Skyway, past Lake Santeetlah, over 129 to Deals Gap, then on Hellbender 28 to Franklin. Along the way we'll ride the best 12 miles in NC; no, not the Tail of The Dragon, but the 12 miles on Hwy 28 from Deals Gap to the Fontana Resort...it's both technical and beautiful.
Caffé Rel isn't very large, so I'm a bit concerned about too large a group going over, so maybe a group of 12 should be tops. Please let me know your interest, and as we get closer to the time, the day will be decided.
GREAT RIDING, GREAT FRIENDS, AND GREAT FOOD...NOT A BAD IDEA!!

No doubt I'll be corrected if wrong but I think that was the road we used to get to the Dragon on the first Gapalicious along the lake? If yes you're right, it was a really nice road!
Unfortunately my trip to Chicago is will get me back home Tuesday. With the storm and my late arrival I have to cancel my reservation and the best I can hope for is maybe come up Friday.
I'm going with Plan B. That is I will drive my van to Tellico Plains, rather than drop it off in Harrisburg, PA.
This is a completely new and strange thing for me. I have never been able to take whatever I want, I was always limited to the bags on my bike. I also miss out on 2 days of riding since I will now be driving, but since it takes less time to get there and back I will get there on Sunday and will leave on Saturday, instead of getting there on Monday and leaving on Friday. I have to call the cabin rentals tomorrow to make those changes.
Ed, you missed the point...leave at 10AM, eat lunch at Caffé Rel at 1PM, back at Tellico at 5pm. This is a lunch trip, and it's now going to be Friday for sure (unless Florence has other thoughts).
That's what I thought as well... still open to the optional two different lunch times, or a group to The Filling Station Deli as well. If it is the later, we would leave earlier (9am) eat earlier, and would ride 28 down through Franklin, and back on Wayah Rd. and over the Skyway to Tellico to be back before dinner. If you like ice cream sammiches, you won't want to miss the deli... I would suggest the larger the group, the earlier the departure time. It takes more time than you may think to get groups of people all to the same place, especially if they are a good mix of skill levels.
I've run into a snag but it won't keep me from coming. Emma has developed a clutch issue, in that, she has none. I'm getting her to the dealer tomorrow and hopefully it is something they can get sorted by Wednesday. If she can't make it, and she will be very disappointed if she can't , I will at least bring the Raider so I have something to ride. You'll know me because I'll be the one in the back y'all will be waiting for at the stop signs.
Funny how these things seem to crop up around events. I currently have my 1090RR apart chasing a poor fueling issue that I thought had been cured a month ago when riding with Masis and the gang.
Well, so now, because the entire state of NC is panicking about the storm the dealer isn't taking appointments. We're 200 miles from the coast. By the time this thing hits Charlotte it's just going to be rain but we all need to fill up our cars, gas cans and get our two week supply of milk and bread. :ahhh:
