Many of you will have read of my recent acquisition of a 2007 F4 1000R. Mine 'seems' to be unique in that it has a white/red nose cone as opposed to most I've seen that are all red. (Even Google images won't throw up a similar one)

With apologies for the pic, can a wise member perhaps shed some light on this scheme? If it helps, chassis number is: ZCGF511BA7V005784.

Is that not an after market number board? Looks like the Motografix
Well I'll be. You're more than likely right! The previous owner was fastidious, but in my 'new owner' ignorance, I had no idea such products were available. Cheers for that! (Bit of a shame it's not a 'one off' Factory Special, but hey, it's still a prize bike:grin2:)

An F4 is an F4, a one off factory special would be nice, but I still smile every time I see my F4. Okay I have an advantage as it's in the best colour (white), cue the abuse from Red & Silver lovers. If MV would resurrect a Blue and Silver I'd have done that. I did think about modifying the White MV to make a Surtees special, now that he has sadly passed on it's on my mind for next winter. It's only the frame that's a pain as I'd have to power coat that, to get rid of the red, and MY10 frames in graphite grey are too expensive, the wife would kill me.

Nigel, give us a sideways picture of your bike, from your avatar I would say someone has been tinkering with the graphics on your bike, the original standard f4 750 and 1000 in red and silver were with pretty sparse with decals and all better for it for the purist, I think the R's and 312's onwards were getting a bit busier but still suited the lines. I put a number board on the front of mine to break up the light shape, now removed, they were very similar to yours. The 1st gen MV is instantly recognised from the front due to the light.

Thanks Chris. To support your theory you will note Brembo stickers on the heel plates (since removed) and also removed was an 'Arrow' sticker off the rear hugger. Fortunately you're in UK, so you will know that our staircases are designed to fit bikes beneath!!:grin2:
