    Mitch,

I am headed to your continent tomorrow and decided to post some of our conversation to the forum, so I could get the bike reassembled today. I will let the guys give me a good lashing for an assembly fail.

    Thanks

Should I get another o-ring from my auto store and carefully reassemble, making sure the sprocket axle nut is only about 1.5 mm past the nut, the pinch bolts, with about 15-20lbs and the caliper after pressing the rear brake, are maintaining the spaces? I see in your "fitting" instructions to torque both axle nuts after loosely fitting the stack.

Sorry to bother you with this. I did not want to post on the forum, because I am a bit embarrassed and there is so much information on this subject.

    Mitch,

Good morning. I am not sure the private message was sent properly from my Iphone, so here it goes again. It didn't show up in our conversation.
You responded on my post when I said my TVL axle was 2 mm past the axle than it should be and I visited Ed for a socket.

I took the axle out and found a small amount of metal shavings caused by the rubbing of the housing to the four rotor bolts. I wanted to scream. I have watched video and read about four hours of threads on this subject and thought I followed the directions on this seemingly simple assembly.

I did notice during the ten miles that my rear brake was not as strong. When I took the caliper off the pads were set toward the hub. Should the pinch bolts and caliper determine the spacing on the wheel side, so that the hub and rotor bolts do not touch? My thinking is that the sprocket axle nut pulled the wheel side too tight on the hub. It seems there would be a spacer there.

HI Mitch...just popped in to clean up some unfinished business.

The program I use for those picture comments is Microsoft Office Paint. I use the keyboard PRINT SCREEN button, then paste into PAINT. From there I use the controls at the top of the PAINT page to crop and comment on photos.

    I hope this helps.

You can always email me at [email protected] if I can be of help. I won't be on the forum for a bit as my psyche needs a break...

    All the best,
    Chuck

    OK,you have 2 options.
1/ Alex at GP Racing (site sponsor) has them.
2/ Noel (theknurl)forum name also has them.
I sent spacers to both of these guys, one of them will help you.
Whoever you contact just tell them Mitch asked if they could supply you a spacer.
