The Porsche thread

OK rather than continuing to hijack a Tamburini thread, and as I love Porsches.................

So what Porsches are average (or bad), good, excellent etc?

My top Porsches are 1973 Carrera RS Lightweight as the road car and the almighty 917K as the track car.

Other greats; 918, GT3RS 4.0, 356 Speedster, 959, Carrera GT, 962, GT1

Honourable mentions; any manual 911

My opinion...Porsche is the only supercar you can drive every day.

Fire away

I see no fault in any of your logic. I'll go one step further and state that I even like 996s, and given that the engine issues are now largely understood its a hell of a value for a fun beater sportscar. They can be had for under 20k and are pretty satisfying for every day scooting.

Chuck ...914 is a great car, particularly when it had the flat six. Two examples of the 914/916 were built with the 8 cylinder motor (from the 908 I think) for the Porsche family, still retained by Porsche

For some reason Porsche cars do nothing for me despite their obvious excellence. Can't put my finger on it

ever bothered driving one?

when I was about 4 or 5 I had a hotwheels 930 turbo that my uncle got for me as he had the full sized version. It was always my favorite toy car. Its unfortunate I waited a bit too long to buy one for myself as the prices are now through the roof.

I'd rate some of them a little higher than honorable mention. I used to have a couple of them...

Now I only have one.
