Referring to the workshop manual, valve clearances are due every 30000km. Now, saying that, the maintenance range is shorter on other 3 cylinder models. Checking them every 15000 km seems to be safer.

For other problems to look for :
- clutch basket. there was a Service bulletin (n°168) applicable up to VIN…1790
- Spring preload support (n°169) applicable up to VIN…1790 : the new part is consolidated, removing the risk of the support breaking
- state of rear indicators : frequent occurrence of fish bowl issue
- clutch switch : 1. check you are able to start the bike with clutch lever pulled with a gear engaged (while bike stand is not opened). 2. while riding check that the shifter works (shifter needs to be set ON). If any of the two proposition doesn't work, it's likely the clutch switch is having an issue
- check for leaks in the slave cylinder area. If leaks present, refer to previous point. In some case, the slave cylinder is also at fault.
- check for the sprocket carrier : if there is too much movement, cush drives are worn out, and the hub and sprocket carrier may be damaged.

Hope it helps.

I have 18000 miles on my 2016 TVL and am about to do a valve check in my garage with my son, who's pretty good at valve checks. I have never done a three cylinder. Many have said the check did not require adjustments.

I love my TVL and I ride it every day, year round, that is doesn't rain. I like an upright bike, but I have to say I have never leaned over a tank.

The only drama with my bike is when I am away from it.
esq'z me and Teeps like this.

Yey love the tv and I've had no frame
dramas with it, bought secondhand with only 1100ks
I only ride occasionally even though the weather is better than Ireland due to taxiing my boy around w/es but however I know I h as he a fecking machine and a half waiting for me in the carport
Try and get a test ride on one, I'm not sure about dealerships there in fact I had to cross the border (warrenpoint) to purchase my brute in 04 at €18K.
I do miss the aul place
Good luck 👍🍺
