Back in the Saddle

Not been out for a few weeks for one reason or another. Started thinking I might go back to a big V2, having done the usual time wasting internet window shopping over the winter. Finally got out on the Turismo today. What a brilliant all round motorbike it is!

True that. I rode the "big V' 1290 SuperDuke for nine days in the Alps. I loved the bike, but I would not trade it for the TVL. The power over my friends GS1200R was amazing. After seeing this bike accelerate, he didn't try.

I bought this a few months ago and was just out on it this afternoon. Brilliant bike - especially after having a Honda VTR (RVT in USA).

Good thing with the aprilias is that they are a very high spec for the 'Factory' version for comparatively cheap money compared to similar vintage bikes.

Had several Aprilias, including a 04 RSVR. The Rotax 990 is one of the best V2's ever. Vastly underrated bikes and probably better than any Ducati for the money. Factory versions do cost a little more but represent even better value as a used buy. The V4's are tempting but very complex and nowhere near as good value used, some quality issues too apparently. The Rotax engined bikes were all very high quality and relatively easy to maintain at moderate cost.

Well, no good me preaching their merits to you then! Happy to hear you rate them as highly as do I.
