So they tested a first year Turismo Veloce and basically its a well build good machine. That definitly holds up in all weather conditions.
First year valve problems have been sorted out to later modelyear bikes so thats fixed.

As for the electronics I have to disagree. If you're rough with the key and snap it off on your own you cant blame MV for having the security feature in it. (2nd key... what happened to that? Did it not work or never recieved a second key?)

Some locksmiths have a computer program that is able to copy the necessary codes on to a new key.

The video is very complimentary. I find it amazing that the sprag issue, which seems to be a common issue on this forum, is not evident with this test.

It may not be that surprising: I asked my dealer about sprag risks. What he told me is that there was very few issues among the very first delivered bikes (TV/TVL), and no for bikes delivered later. And he mentioned quite a few of them have already heavy mileage (multiple in the 30K km already). Apparently the very first sprag were not the same than the later ones, and as well there was a modification of the ECU programmation. He also mentioning the starting behavior is slightly different. A solved issue maybe?

That being said, was there anyone with this same issue on Euro 4 bikes?

Perhaps there is updates of the ECU software to be applied on other Euro 3 models as well.

By the way, when you looked at what happened in the past for other manufacturers with 3 cylinders, Sprag issues were quite a known issue on Triumph models till end of 1999. There was first a modification of the position of the sprag to make it easier to access and to change, and then later on other modifications and revamped injection software. It took them about 8+ years to give a proper solution to the problem. Not sure if Yamaha got this type of problems with their 3 cylinders...
