TV hand protectors blinkers as additional permanent light?

Hi everyone,

I'm asking myself if it is possible to have the hand protectors lights acting as :
  • Blinkers (orange) when indicator is activated
  • permanent light (white) when indicator is not activated

I'd like to know if it is possible and if it is possible how to make this happening, as it extend the visibility of the bike for others.

Thanks.

Get a Stradale

A much better bike.

But with the holes in the hand guard where the running light is, the resulting light leak makes the night ride a nightmare.
A black foam plug solved the leak.

Hi Marc,
next to the indicator light are space for 1 LED light (small LED), there could be a white LED find a place ...
the first TVL showing on EICMA 2013 had this LED in... see the pic...
I guess MV decided to get rid of the superb light!! Maybe some legal rights in some countries.. what a shame!! I would like to have them !!!

Actually looking at the references of the hand protectors, they are not the same... Probably the reason is the lights are not the same (because the rest is apparently the same). Need to check out in more details, because at the end, if it is the case, rest of the story is just a wire routing story

Don't think it's about regulations.

The Stradale running lights,
same casing as the TV, but with six bright blue-white LED where the TV has only a blank face, make the bike unridable at night.

The only way to stop the running lights blinding you on both sides at night is to plug the hand guards.

ok, this may explain why they dropped them on the TV post 2013 presentation...

I was not thinking about it this way, but some led exist able to display 2 colors. I remember having seen a picture of a TV (don't remember where it was) where the owner is likely to have made a mod to have exactly what I have in mind: lighted white unless blinking, where it would be lighted orange... This would definitely visually enlarge the bike from front, enhancing the visibility on the road.

Thinking again about the Stradale option... If my memory is correct, the rider position is more front, which means the rider's head may be in situation to see the light spot. I'm not sure it would be the case on the TV, so maybe a bit of research is worth it from that stand point as well.

Any one would have a pic of the connector on a Rivale/Stradale hand protector?

Update : Found a picture of a Stradale handguard with the connector (see attached file)

Update 2 : checked on the TV : connector has less pins than on the Stradale (not really a surprise). Did additional check: when light is on night mode, Day Running Lights are off on the TV, which means the issue @Arcimboldo faced with the Stradale would not happening on the TV. In short, there should be a way to make it the way it is done on the pictures you published @Gero HH. Maybe the most difficult will be to find the proper connectors (if someone has an indication for this, it may be easier)

I'll go to my dealer in two weeks from now (the spy seal is dead on the rebound side, and it starts to be a real concern while on curvy roads) and will ask the question.

I added the 5.5" led bar light between the forks and would love to add white light on the hand guard ends. I would like to add lights to the rear, like the Billie Light from Clearwater, but it doesn't work on the TVL.

I will examine my bike this evening and look for options on the hand guards.

Bright lights near the turn signals make it difficult to see the turn signal flashing. It may be necessary to interrupt the white light while the turn signal is activated.
