Replacement front brake lever

One thing I always struggle with on most motorcycles are the brake and clutch lever spans, they are alway too wide but I do have small hands. On my Ducati I replaced them both, so I went on the hunt for a similar option for the MVTV. The clutch was OK in full inwards adjustment but the brake was still a little too far away.

I found these for 24 from China. They took 3 weeks to arrive and the brake lever was a perfect fit allowing my 2 finger braking comfortably on position 5 of 6. Fitting too minutes. The clutch however was completely wrong and it transpires after a few emails that they did not have the pattern for the clutch lever. I have decided to keep the brake lever as they offered me a refund but even 24 for the brake is astonishing value, they look and feel top quality.

MV wanted 99 for a new lever. I know this because there is a small brass bush that the compression rod for the clutch goes into, and it fell out when I removed the lever, never to be seen again. I enquired about a new one and it required a complete lever. So I ordered a short length of 10mm diameter brass on ebay and made one in about 15 minutes.

I am now loving my MVTV even more!
