New Lusso

Thought I'd post how I was sold my new TV. The salesman who sold me a Brutale 10 years ago, and a couple bikes since then, called and asked if I'd like a test ride on a new Motus. He knew if I really liked the bike I'd be a probable sale. He scheduled me for a factory test ride on a Saturday morning. When I got back he asked what I thought and I told him maybe in a year or two. We compared notes and he agreed that he felt the same.

He then asked me if I wanted to do the same ride on a MV; I wasn't that interested. I told him I had reached a point in life that comfort was important and as much as I loved the Brutale I didn't much like riding it for more than 80 miles at a sitting. He talked me into a test, since I was already there.

When I got back I told him I really liked it and it was more comfortable than the Motus (and more enjoyable for me to ride) but I just couldn't tell how it'd be for a longer ride. I thanked him for the tests and said I had a few Saturday chores to do ...... as I was walking out the door he threw me the keys and said bring it back Tuesday ......

I brought it back with it's 600 mile service overdue.

My dealer let me have the demo TV for the day and told me to ride it like I stole it, helpfully engaged Sport mode before I rode off.

In comparison a Ducati dealer gave me a 30 minutes accompanied test ride following someone who waited after every junction, roundabout etc. so I wouldn't get too carried away... he rode at a maximum of 50mph, banked at no more than 20 from vertical and slowed if I tried to drop back. This was on a 1200 Multistrada DVT. Told the salesman what I thought when I got back to the showroom.

Not for that that reason alone that I bought the TV but dealer attitude plays a big part in the buying decision process.

Enjoy your new bike

My dealer, a nice and helpful guy, didn't know much about the TVL. There was one on the floor, next to Triumphs and Ducatis, and I drove an hour in my truck, in case I liked it. After a five minute test ride and a few hours of research, I brought it home.

The website http://cycle-ergo.com/, helped me decide which bike to get. The BMW XR and RS had me leaning too forward, up to 15 degrees. The TVL was basically straight up, which for me, was most comfortable for long trips.

I love the TVL and ride it about three times a day. It is so lively and light. People routinely stop to check it out and admire it, just like I do.

I purchased through Mike at Hourglass. I should have asked who was the most knowledgeable salesperson. He was helpful, just did not know much about the Agusta bike or brand. I didnt care much. I just wanted to take it home. The guys in service seemed familiar with the bike. Hourglass is a good store.

Comparing my 2007 Multistrada 1100S with the TVL for multi day 3000+ mile camping trip: the Multi would be my choice for a camping trip longer than a week just because it carries more stuff.
