New owner

Hi All,

A quick intro, I've been the proud owner of my Lusso for the last month, put 450miles of Welsh and Cheshire roads on it and can't stop grinning!

Came over from the Orange side (SMT), which I loved but I wanted a more advanced, better looking bike which are not ten a penny.

I've got two trips booked in this year, Scotland and Spain via the Pyrenees so looking forward to seeing how 'The Mistress' is to live with on the longer jaunts.

Cheers Bumpkin for the prompt to post, not been a big forum user so still learning the etiquette!

Hi and welcome to the proud TV owner

A few years ago I lived in Chester. And was working in North Wales.
Such a nice area especially to drive with the TVL

Looking forward to hear and see more from you.

Hi and welcome to the family, again...

Did Scotland last year and the Pyrenees in 2014. Going to the Picos de Europa for a week at the End of June. Can't wait.

Our 2014 trip was Plymouth to Santander, along Pyrenees then back up through the middle of France for shorter Caen to Portsmouth ferry home. This year were using the Santander ferry both ways, so we roll off pretty well straight into the twisty stuff.

Any questions about either Pyrenees or Scotland fire away on a separate thread in the Events, Rides, Group Rides, and Meets forum, it maybe of benefit to others. Either that or drop me a PM or email.

Cheers Guys!

It's a good area to live in. In a morning I can nail of 230miles of amazing A & B roads through Wales, taking in Bala, Snowdonia and the Clwyds. Wales is just unbelievable, especially when it's not raining :-)

Will definitely post threads on the trips. Thanks for the offer to tap on to your knowledge Bumpkin, I've never been to the Pyrenees and am going solo so any and all advice gratefully received. Riding from Cherbourg to La Manga via the Pyrenees to meet up with my wife and kiddies who are flying out and then back again.
Scotland is with a Buddy who is on a GS1200, he's not see the TVL in the flesh yet so I can't wait to show him what a proper bike looks like

That sounds incredible, I did the same change a few weeks ago, from a KTM SMT 990 to a lovely TV.

SMT it was extraordinary but a bit poor on some details, overall quality or electronics.

If you are planning to come to the eastern Pyrenees please let me know, we could arrange a TV meeting somewere.

Hi Darkus,

The SMT was a great bike when you were "on it" but riding it through cities was always a tiresome experience. the finished factory product was thwarted by the emission regs really, if they didn't have to put in the Secondary Air System and had been able to tweek the mapping to suit it would have been a much better allrounder.
The TVL is (so far) a much easier bike to live with and much more advanced too.

I may have to take you up on a meet up whilst on my travels!
