activating heated grips

Hi all,
I have owned this awesome bike for 4 months clocked up 10,000km. and still loving it.My wife also loves it and I have to get a special pass to go out without her.
Anyway the reason for this thread. Can anyone tell me how to activate the heated grips.
The dealer network in New Zealand is tiny and they told me to go direct to Italy to purchase panniers and heated grips for my TV as they could not tell me if, when or how much.
They finally arrived and all fitted, but there is nothing comes up on the instrument screen to allow me to turn them on.
Anyone know what is required.
Many thanks for any help.

No, they have to be activated by a computer that the dealer should have. I had heated grips ordered when I ordered my TV. Dealer got them and the bike but couldn't activate the grips because they didn't have a certain software module. I had to take it back to them a month later when they got new software, and they were able to activate the grips but not able to turn off the service reminder warning. The tech was on the phone with Italy trying to sort out. Evidently MV changed distributor for the software and there are some glitches still in the process.

Your dealer will need to activate the grips.

Thank you nostalgic. I suspected as much.Had to get the same done with my Ducati.
My nearest dealer has not been able to remove the overdue service
reminder either and I know he doesn't have the computer.
There is a bigger one about 3 hrs away so will see what they can do.
Cheers Dennis
