We had just finished riding this road called The Gentle Annie, 140 Kms of non stop corners. We stopped and chatted, and i said "how you enjoy that?" He answered " ls it finished?" Yip i said. "Damn I was hoping it would go on for longer he said" His fuel reserve light was on, its time to find a gas station. I also took him over the Coromandel loop and through the Wai Weka gorge, some of NZs best North Island roads. I just dropped him off at the airport to fly back to Melbourne, he was gutted his trip on the MV was over. It was great riding with him, but nerve racking at the same time worrying about him. Just a great time riding with my son, it doesn't get any better than that.

Great memory! Dave, do you still have the small '14 fuel tank on your Rivale? I do, as I think it is better looking than the larger tank, even though the range is poor.
My only child (daughter) never had interest in motorcycles. She's grown and on her own now, and about a year ago said she might want to learn how to ride. Just about fell out of my chair!

I ran the tank dry, and it barely took 12 litres of fuel, in normal mode i can get around 130-150 kms then stretch out 60-70 kms on reserve at best. Small tanks are frustrating, on the trip i carried 3 litres in a fuel cell, but never needed it. Im off on the MV with a mate in 15 mins 440 km ride of back roads to get his SP 936 serviced, but its still dark here, i better get a move on.

"6 days of riding with my son"

Im jealous AF man. I want to ride so badly with my father. He always wanted to ride a motorcycle but never got to it.
Now the inner ear function has tiny crystals and could F'k up his balance out of nowhere. So its wiser to not ride.

1 Dream I cannot furfull :'(
Me on the F3, my dad on the TVL :')

I live with Meniere's Syndrome everyday. You can minimize its effects by doing a specific exercise. It does not keep me off bikes in the least. I do occasionally stumble backwards though when walking and I have to be careful how I move when lying down or the dizziness upon standing is terrific.

Good roads, good times. We have so many stunning places to see. I spend a fair bit of time no Old Russell Road and Mangakahia Road and through the Waipoua Forest .... if you're in the North then you should hit me up for a spin.
