MV Agusta North America Customer Service

When I bought my 2014 Rivale last year I had my reservations about having to deal with Warranty Issues with the bike based on postings I read a few years back. People would post about minor things breaking and then the bike would sit and wait at the local dealer for weeks or months until parts arrive.

The reason for my post today is to share my experience with two separate warranty repairs that I needed on my Rivale and the outstanding customer service I received. The first issue was a fuel tank replacement and the the second was a radiator replacement--both high dollar items. In both of my two cases each of the repairs was performed surprisingly fast and without any issue. MV Agusta Customer service has their program together!! There is a guy running the program which some of you already know, Ian Adkins, that is truly a owner/rider advocate and he stays continuously engaged with the local dealers performing the repairs and the mothership to assure a very quick resolution to the issues.

And with my continuously growing appreciation with the MV Agusta product, I will certainly not hesitate to buy another in the future!

"fuel tank replacement" and "radiator replacement" In both of my two cases each of the repairs was performed surprisingly fast and without any issue"

What is surprisingly fast? Give us some more information about this. Its important since MV said during 2018 EICMA they would improve these waiting times.
To me it sounds like 1 week to 2 weeks time. Which is acceptable IMO. And does this include shipping over a gas tank? Or was the gas tank ordered weeks earlier and then took 1-2 weeks to be repaired?

Why did each of those parts need to be replaced? Nice pics!

Can't say why the radiator had to be replaced, but the tank replacement under warranty is usually due to expansion from ethanol. When expansion occurs it tends to crack the paint on the tank. I had mine replaced, can't boast about the times. Maybe they were reasonable, maybe not. What I do recall is that during warranty tank replacement I wanted to replace in-tnak filter and fuel line. The dealer had the filter but the fuel line was on back order (!). Mine is a 2013 Brutale 1090RR and didn't really require replacement of either one, but I figured that once they are in there.... Anyway, I was offered an option to go with aftermarket fuel line, which I declined, and just had the filter replaced.

I had my 7500 mile service done at a different dealer and had to pay in advance for the service parts (!). Then i went on to wait for 2-3 weeks for the said parts to arrive into dealer's inventory (!!!). The reason for multiple explanation marks is that as far as I know any franchised dealer, car or motorcycle, are usually required to carry service or wear/tear parts in inventory.

BTW, both dealers were fantastic in terms of their service. Technically I can't fault the dealers for not carrying these parts due to low volume of MV product sold (both dealers are multi brand retailers) but isn't there at least one factory warehouse in the US to make more commonly used parts available to dealers?

I said it before and will repeat it that if MV wants to attain a strong foothold in the US, it must start with ensuring that after sales service is beyond reproach. Matthew, i am very happy to hear that you had a great experience, and wish such experience on existing or future MV owners.
