Suspension hop-ups!

So, I've been researching options to cure my Woefully inadequate suspension. As with my previous bike (Duc S2R1000) the front end springs are super soft, and preload has been maxed. Now missing sag is an issue.
I've approached a few companies and dealerships, and got many good pointers from a guy named Alex at Maniac Motors in Germany, whom races an F3. We discussed available options from Matris and Mupo (full cartridge replacements) and Wilbers (springs and oil replacement).
For the difference of a few 100 Euro, his recommendation was to invest in the more expensive Mupo unit as it was significantly better. The Mupo fork kit is K911, and shock is AB1 Evo. Package price for this sexy full-adjustable kit was quoted at 2599 Euro.

A little above budget, and well over the top spec for my use! Enter the Wilbers option: pair of springs (progressive though), oil and 643QS shock with compression, rebound and upgradable to hydraulic preload with remote adjustment for 1049 Euro. Since the original 43mm Marzocchis already have compression and rebound adjustment I'm thinking that this will serve me well enough.

Although not height adjustable, the shock can be built to -20mm of standard height. I'm considering this, since despite being 180cm I cannot stand with flat feet on the bike. Id be happy to hear from anyone who has lowered their Rivale/Stradale on their experience with this!
NZRivale and NZRivale like this.
