Brake fluid change Need info
I have a 2014 Brutale 1090RR with ABS brakes. I read in another post I do not need to do anything to the ABS system when changing fluid.Just pump lever, bleed.
Then I saw a post Service Bulletin Rear Brake bleeding procedure all models. It states I must loosen fittings ,retighten in a special order.
Do I have to pull my tank off to get to the ABS unit and follow the procedures?
Sorry to bring up a topic that might have been talked about. Tried a search but did not find anything on my year and model.
Thank You for your time and help, Bubba

Old Wing Nut
The procedure in the bulletin is needed only if there is air in the system.
If you are just changing fluid, and the old fluid isn't terrible, you can just bleed the new fluid through using the time honored method for normal brakes.
Just be aware that you will leave some old fluid in the ABS pump, not a problem if the fluid isn't rotten.
AND, if you screw up and get some air in the system .....then you gotta do the service bulletin procedure.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
