Nissan brake master cylinder ,is this faulty.

Need the experts please ,I am pretty sure there should be 2 holes all the way ,one looks wrong and might be a manufacturing issue ,Guys can anyone confirm this or has an old one lying around that could take the reservoir off.I have asked Deano on another thread to check but he might not see it. crc nissan master brake cylinder

Eddy,

Same as mine. If you look real close you'll see a very small hole goes all the way through, I can see it in your picture. If you put the piston back in and gently pump the lever you will see fluid in/coming out of this hole. Most master cylinders I've seen have this 'pin' hole to let air out on the backstroke. It's small, I have a set of finger drills and my smallest (0.75mm) is just too big. It'll be drilled that way to save punching such a small drill through the full wall thickness, ie. countersink with the bigger drill then drill through with the pin hole.

Cheers

Deano
