Winter charging Dragster 2018

So just getting the bike ready to store for winter in my internal garage. I have read in the manual that if ithe bike isn't used for more than a month then I need to remove one of the fuses..Do I need to do this?

I tend to charge once a week overnight until the light on the MV charger is green and I consider it has been on charge long enough...24hrs etc.

You can do that, but you can also keep bike on the tender.
I've done that for 3 years now during winter months, battery still works like a charm

Pulling the fuse takes the meter parasitic draw away....you will always need to reset the clock when you do this.

Mine stay plugged into smart chargers all the time...unless I am riding.

Yuasa AGM Batteries last 8 + years.

Only my little vintage bikes don't live on the charger simply because they are 6 v wet acid. They get a routine monthly charge overnight and the positive leads are disconnected.

Good to know the supplied charger works well. So stock battery will last 3 years? That is excellent. All bikes seem to have some parasitic behavior?

All modern bikes (those with clocks) have parasitic draw...so do cars, but with a much larger battery.

Yuasa batteries will last 8 or more years when maintained....can't speak for other brands or types, except that my Shorai only lived about 4 years.

We got our Brutale 800RR in June of 2019. It has the original battery in it and it has been maintained on the factory supplied charger ever since.

Starts right up....so far.

Sorry but another quick Q - I've just checked my coolant level and it's about 1 cm 'below' the Min level!! The bike was level and upright when checking....I literally held the bike and looked. I'm now a bit worried...Is that right? I cannot find any leaks, the bike has only done 1100 miles.

I did buy this as an ex Demo so Maybe, it wasn't topped up properly in the first place?

If I do need to add some coolant what should I use and does anyone know what the syringe kit for adding the coolant is called.

IF you feel the need to add some coolant....get some "Long Life" pre-mixed coolant at the auto parts store (or pay extra for a small bottle of the same from a motorcycle dealer).
Any brand will do, though it's nice to get one the same color as what is in the bike now (not required, but won't "muddy" the color...they are all the same ethylene glycol blend).

Go to the grocery store and buy a cheap turkey baster syringe.

Keep in mind you only want to fill to the MIN mark COLD...no higher or it will just puke out.
