Hear I go again.

So on Wednesday morning I decide to take my MV to work since the weather was going to be great. Well sadly on my way a person who was not paying attention, crossed 3 lanes of a divide road. She was attempting to take a left turn, which would have been possible only because they are repairing the median strip and there was a gap large enough for her to pass through. I was horrified when I realises she was not taking the required right hand turn only allowed at that location. When she did finally see me, she stopped dead in her tracks and stared at me, I was about 40' away traveling about 25 mph on wet roads surface............. ( 25 mph = 36 feet per second). Impact was imminent.
I hit the front fender just behind the bumper in front of her front wheel. The bike stopped instantly, I did not. I slid balls into the fuel tank, did a flip, feet over my head and landed on my back on the hood of her car, then gracefully slide off on to the pavement. (good gear, ATGATT) There I stayed till the ambulance came and they carted me off to MGH.
I could not see the condition of my bike from my vantage point, but her car was not driveable so if my bike is worse than her car, YIKES!. I fractured my fibula and will be fine, my real concern is my bike. I will know more on Saturday when a friend and I go and retrieve it. This is awful and may end up just like last summer not having my Brutale to ride all season, if it is repairable.

Well thanks, I will be okay. Yeah I was taken to MGH ( Mass General Hospital) it's a good facility and we are very fortunate to have it.
The way it works around here is the police come and have the vehicles towed if they are not drivable..
I never really spoke to the person who hit me except to ask her to call an ambulance. I can't imagine the lady who hit me had any ill intent, but she was very careless, IMO. I can't live in anger so ............ life goes on. I really do wish people would take more responsibility for the actions, but that doesn't seem to be the direction society is moving in.
Once the dust settles I will know more.

FFS Rob! You just can't catch a break ...no pun intended.

Heal well. Maybe the Brutale is not destined to be your ride.

Hugs,
Chuck & Cindy

AllW,

Blessings be yours... love your attitude: experience the situation, feel the feelings, then turn the page and move on.
Given that, well crap on the careless cagers. Riding in Houston is similar.

CarKiller, err, Rob,

This is getting out of hand. MV makes enough already selling you parts.

Sending Good Vibes to help with healing.

I am rescheduling a ride south to accomodate you when you are up to it. The Triumph will have to do I guess.

Take care Brother
