Dragster Seat Cowl

Hi MV'ers,

‘Thought I share a couple images of the new pillion cowl on my 2017 MV Agusta Dragster 800 Reparto Corse. Admittedly, I don’t know every MV Agusta option offered for the Dragster, but I have not seen one of these before (the Seller said it is a, “MV Agusta ‘Reparto Corse' Factory personalized”).

To attach this clam-shell style cowl to the seat, two tap-screws secure the underside ‘lips' of the cowl to the underside of the seat. Unfortunately, the additional thickness of the cowl’s ‘lips’ prevents the seat's registration pin from fully locking in place… so, for the seat (with cowl) to click into its locked position, the seat-lock cable block assembly (identified as D05 on the microfiche) needs to be raised. To raise the seat-lock cable block assembly, I put a total of four stainless-steel fender washers UNDER the assembly (two washers per bolt), and used two 6mm x 25mm flat hex head stainless steel bolts (replacing the stock 6mm x 20mm flat hex head bolts).

If anyone would like detailed installation images, just let me know.

Ride smart, ride safe!
Yours,
M Squared

Looks very slick. I don’t know why they even put a rear seat on the dragsters to be honest, especially the RC’s.

I wonder if there is an equivalent for the Brutale (non Dragster) RC. Where is the best place to browse special MV parts?

Thanks for the photos.

With kind regards,

Very nice. Looks very much like the one I bought for my brutale . It was in carbon and I had it painted . From zero carbon I think .
Also I recall evolution bike sell a seat cowl for the brutale and dragster .

I have a carbon one from zero limits on order. Well, has been since November.
Considering getting it painted to match.

Hi XPARAUK,

As promised, attached is a "wider side on shot", and a couple others (yes, it snowed... again, and please forgive the wonky angle of the overhead image, heh heh).

Claude and doggy: Thanks! Please note that I haven't seen a pillion cowl from MV Agusta Special Parts, not that I've not seen one. 'Did look at aftermarket manufacturers, but similar to ZeroLimits (MV Agusta Brutale 675 & 800 Seat Cowl - zero-limits, MV, Agusta, Augusta, F3, Brutale, 675, 800, Seat, Cowl, Cover, Motorbike, Parts, Accessories, Bodywork, Carbon, Fibre, Fiber,), none were available / they've been out of stock. Claude: 'Hope yours arrives soon / good luck!

Cheers!
