Any know has knowledge of VIN number to Year bike was manufactured?
I bought a 2017 Brutale 800, VIN number also 2017, the letter H.
But turns out bike is actually MY16?
I am so confused.

Yes, H is definitely 2017 and J is 2018.
I have a 2018 Fireblade which is identified as a 'J' model by the 10th digit.
Will need someone conversant with Brutale production to advise you further.

Your 2017 bike was very likely BUILT in 2016...... have you noticed you can buy 2019 model cars for the past few months? You can also buy 2019 motorcycles.
The VIN year model designation determines year model, not year of manufacture. Vehicle manufacturers generally stop current year model production in the summer and shift to the next year model. This has been common practice for decades.
