Raising the bar(s)

My old tired back was a little unhappy with the Dragster's bar position. They are a little too low, and too far forward. The fix for the latter seemed simple enough; Adjust the bars to the +1 position. After a few minutes of wrenching I find that the clearance between the tank and bars is pretty tight at +1. Finger pinching tight. Not workable tight. On to plan B; Raise the bars, and then move them back.

I bought two M10X70mm bolts, and some 19mm diameter, 10mm (and 15mm) thick aluminum spacers. Everything showed up Friday, and thismorning I installed the spacers and moved the bars to the +1 position.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I think the spacers could be a bit larger diameter, but the 19mm seems to be mechanically sound. I put a 25mm SS washer between the bars and the spacer as well.

A very neat, low-cost option. And discrete! Cheers!
