2017 Brutale 800 Aftermarket Fuel Door Problem

So I bought a CNC "gear" fuel door with the easy-open top and installed it. The seal that surrounds the OEM fuel door is a bit lose around the CNC. SO I've had it for probably 2 months and just recently I went out to my bike and noticed a yellow-ish liquid (gas?) that looks like it was leaking from around the fuel door. I cleaned it off but there is some yellowish staining in my white paint now. I'm kinda pissed. I just ordered a Bonamici fuel door and it fits much tighter than the CNC and there just isn't any room for the seal.

So I guess I'm wondering if the seal is needed or not and why the hell the the CNC is so lose and fucked up my paint.

Has anyone else swapped out theirs?

I was thinking about getting the same one for my next modification but now I will avoid it. Thanks for the heads up on the fitment issue. Have you tried sending an email to CNC racing about it?
