Fuel tank Brutale and dragster
Hi all,
I have a query about the fuel tanks for the 2014 Brutale 800 and Dragster. Are they the same? I've done a forum search but not found an answer.
The reason is I want to do a custom paintjob for my Dragster but want to keep the stock tank so it can be reverted to stock for future owner. Finding a second hand tank from a Brutale 800 is obviously easier than from a Dragster.
Externally they look the same but how about underneath...cutouts for airbox etc?
If they are the same, would be interested to speak to anyone with a tank for sale!

Right off I don't know, but check the part #'s for each.
There are site sponsors that sell parts.

Bikes:
2016 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso
2015 Triumph Street Triple R
Good idea. Will check.

OK, so did check. Unfortunately the numbers are not much help. Grey and white MY14 dragster tanks have different numbers even though they are obviously the same shape. The MY13/14 Brutale 800 tank has similar but different number as well. A common theme is the 80AOB header with a different last 4 digits for each tank. Maybe this is sufficient identifier??
I've seen both a Dragster RR tank and a Brutale 800 RR tank off the bike and they looked pretty much the same to me as far as externally and cut out's etc, maybe have a final check with your local MV dealer?

Thanks James. Thats very helpful.
In the meantime I've bitten the bullet and bought the only second hand Brutale 800 tank I could find on ebay. Decided to wing it!

If it doesn't fit just buy the rest of the bike, a win win situation.

Also scored an exhaust from an f3 800. This will be ceramic coated satin black.
