Canada sold out of F3ís

From the F3 page on the Canadian MV web site.

Interesting, if itís true. Or is it just a marketing ploy?
I mean are the first bikes coming here 2012ís and the next shipment that comes into the country going to be called 2013ís? Funny, we havenít seen any yet and canít get a confirmed delivery date.
Any other countries sold out?

I was told by my dealer in US that the bikes that would arrive here this summer would be MY2013. This was also confirmed by MV USA.

Currently - '13 Ducati Multistrada (for sale), '09 Daytona (track only)
Previously - '13 F800GS, '13 MV F3, '10 S1000RR, '04 Royal Enfield 500, '97 Yamaha RX135, '90 Yamaha RD350...and many more.

That is what I heard also all the F3 destin for Canada are in fact 2013 models. That would make sense as the my F4 bike while it is a FY10 model is actually and 2011 model based upon the serial number.

Well actually thatís not correct. The model year is dependent on the manufacturer. Ford has been selling 2013 models since February 2012. That means some of these vehicles were manufactured in 2011.
I believe this "Sold Out" is just marketing. MV Canada probably has deposits for all the first shipment of F3ís. Likely in part do to the rave review by Neil Graham in Cycle Canada magazine. So to hype that they are using the 2012 sold out banner.
As soon as I get the VIN for my bike Iíll know for sure what the model year is.

At the Charlotte bike show I was told by the MV rep that the first shipment into the US was sold out and getting close to being sold out for the first year.

I know tripletripletriple posted this the week after the test but I can’t find it. (I’m lousy with search functions)
Anyway here is the direct link.

http://www.cyclecanadaweb.com/articles/14653/

The text appears to be word for word to that which is in the magazine. There are lots of photos, which are like hundreds of others seen from the press launch. I think the biggest PLUS is the front cover that shows the photo used in the on-line article with the caption:

I thought 2012 meant built in 2012 & a 2012 model & 2013 in 2013, so you can have a 2011 built car that is a 2013 model but purchased in 2012? This is not doubt known as progress in marketing circles
