Undecided options..
I own a 2013 f3800, I've bought a few aesthetic items (screen, tail tidy, front brake reservoir) as well as a sc project exhaust. I was toying with the idea of getting headers as well and then get a tune, but my understanding is if i did, id also have to purchase the "race ecu"" or something similar to do so, would this be correct?
Also, crash protection, there is a lot out there, but what would be the consensus of necessary ones?
And/or other pieces to maximise the enjoyment of riding the f3?
For the time being I haven't tracked it, it would like to perhaps taking it out for a few times throughout the year, mainly for enjoyment.
Thankyou in advance!

Crash protection is either a love or hate item to add to you bike. (specially frame sliders)
It also depends on where you ride. Lots of tarmac and no grass or soft ground next to roads. Cause if you go down with frame sliders and they dig into the soft ground. Bike can toll and damage everything, maybe even bend frame.
As for change of headers and the need of a Race ECU, I believe you need to buy that however im not 100% sure anymore cause there are thirdparties with ECU reflashes so I'll leave that to the experts to say.

From what I read here, ECU Studio is an organization I would contact to ask the tuning question.

My experience with the bike went from, this motor & ride by wire sucks (worst i have experienced in 21 years) to HUGE GRINS & SMILES after doing a full system & reflashed ECU.
As mentioned ECU studios is available and a viable option, many have had great results.
I had Kyle Passerini in the US do mine and cannot find fault in the fueling now. Still wish it was as responsive as my modded Panigale, but mine was set up for a midway track and street response.. Should have went full race. anything more than a 1/4 is a waste.

Thankyou for the responses!
Yeah, I wasn't sure on the frame sliders!
I might contact ecu studio and just get a rough of idea of what is involved, and now hunt down some headers to mate with the sc project and go from there!
